MPTTA welcomes players of all standards to undertake training and coaching. We aim to help players grow and develop their potential. Many players of all ages have improved, won awards and trophies in all grades, and often gone on to represent the club, Victoria and Australia, as a result of coaching and training at the club. Coaching helps players learn skills and improve their technique while training and group coaching sessions aid muscle memory and embedding those new skills into social or competition play.
MPTTA has a detailed coaching, training, development and participation plan which enshrines our passion for table tennis and opportunities for growth. This plan contributes to fulfilment of purposes of the association as articulated in the MPTTA Constitution e.g. encouragement, raising levels and standards of play, learning skills and techniques and rules, promotion, high performance programs, and building health and safety (e.g. learning about biomechanics, diet, fluid intake, stretching, warming up and down, sports psychology etc).
At MPTTA we have a Community In-House Coaching team of 8 coaches who do the day to day coaching for all members. Elite Coach(es) provide advanced coaching especially for those with strong motivation to play at high levels and represent the club or State or Australia. Our elite coach and club ambassador is Heming Hu, Olympian.
